DIANA IS HERE WITH SOME MORE LOCAL NEWS. DIANA PATRICK JOYCE, A MILWAUKEE WOMAN NOW CHARGED IN A DEADLY CRASH OVER THE WEEKEND, WAS WAS SPEEDING AND DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE. THAT’S ACCORDING TO A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED TODAY CHARGING 24 YEAR-OLD LESTER HARRIS WITH RECKLESS HOMICIDE. THE CRASH HAPPENED SATURDAY NIGHT RIGHT NEAR APPLETON AND BURLEY. THE COMPLAINT SAYS HARRIS UNLAWFULLY WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH A RIGHT ONLY LANE TO GET AROUND OTHER VEHICLES AS SHE MADE THAT TURN WHEN SHE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THAT CAR, 50 YEAR OLD JASON STARK, DIED, ACCORDING TO THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, HARRIS WAS TRAVELING 92 MILES AN HOUR, FIVE SECONDS BEFORE THE CRASH AND ABOUT 64 MILES AN HOUR AT IMPACT TO THE POSTED LIMIT IN THAT AREA IS 35. THE COMPLAINT ALSO SAYS HARRIS HAS BEEN CITED SIX PREVIOUS

Prosecutors said a Milwaukee woman accused of causing a deadly crash Saturday night was speeding and driving on a suspended license.Ellastayasha Harris, 24, is charged with second-degree reckless homicide, knowingly operating a motor vehicle while suspended- causing death and two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety.Saturday's crash happened at Appleton Avenue and Burleigh Street in Milwaukee. According to a criminal complaint, Harris went straight through a right-turn-only lane to get around other traffic before crashing into another vehicle.The driver of that car, Jason Stark, 50, died. His mother told WISN 12 News he was on his way to work to deliver newspapers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. According to the criminal complaint, Harris was driving 92 miles per hour five seconds before the crash. The complaint says her car was traveling about 64 miles per hour at impact. The posted speed limit at the crash location is 35 miles per hour. A police officer who responded to the scene reported speaking to Harris minutes after the crash. "The Defendant indicated she was on her way to her sister who was in an 'emergency position," the complaint said. "The Defendant stated she was trying to get to her sister fast and she was sorry for speeding." While in custody, the complaint said Harris spoke with a different detective and stated she left her mother's house and was going home.
