LITTLE WHILE TOO. SO DON’T GO FAR. ALL RIGHT DAVE THANK YOU. NEW AT 4:00 BURLINGTON POLICE HAVE MADE AN ARREST IN AN APRIL SHOOTING. POLICE SAY MARSH MCCOY WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN WAKE COUNTY. HE IS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON. OFFICERS BELIEVE MCCOY SHOT ANOTHER MAN MULTIPLE TIMES ON APRIL 27TH ON HARRIS STREET. POLICE HAVE NOT RELEASED AN UPDATE ON THE VICTIM’S CONDITION. MCCOY REMAINS IN JAIL WITH NO BOND. A SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED AFTER A NEARLY THREE HOUR STANDOFF IN GIBSONVILLE SUNDAY AFTERNOON. ALAMANCE COUNTY DEPUTIES TRIED SERVING WARRANTS ON ALLEN LEWIS. HE HAD BEEN WANTED FOR TWO COUNTS OF COMMUNICATING THREATS. DEPUTIES SAY WHEN THEY GOT THERE, LEWIS CAME OUT OF THE HOME AND THREATENED TO SHOOT THEM. AFTER REFUSING COMMANDS, THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS A SPECIAL RESPONSE TEAM EVENTUALLY WENT INTO THE HOME AND ARRESTED LEWIS. DEPUTIES SAY THEY FOUND FIVE GUNS AND SEVERAL ROUNDS OF AMMO INSIDE THAT HOUSE. GREENSBORO POLICE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO SHOT AN 18 YEAR OLD MAN. OFFICERS FOUND THE VICTIM ON STANLEY STREET NEAR EAST MARKET AND O. HENRY BOULEVARD AROUND 3:00 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. YOU CAN SEE THOSE EVIDENCE MARKERS IN THE ROADWAY THERE. POLICE SAY THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. AND AGAIN, WE ARE ASKING POLICE IF THEY HAVE ANY SUSPECTS IN THIS CASE, THE WINSTON-SALEM FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS A 76 YEAR OLD MAN DIED IN A HOUSE FIRE THAT WAS SPARKED BY SMOKING. A FIREFIGHTERS FOUND REUBEN NOEL DEAD INSIDE A BEDROOM OF A HOME ON HUNTER AVENUE, JUST BEFORE 1130 LAST NIGHT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS THE FIRE WAS STARTED ACCIDENTALLY BY SMOKING WHILE ON OXYGEN. THE DEPARTMENT IS URGING EVERYONE TO HAVE WORKING SMOKE ALARMS IN THEIR HOMES AND TO SLEEP WITH THEIR BEDROOM DOORS SHUT. STATE WILDLIFE OFFICIALS CONFIRMING A BALD EAGLE WAS SHOT IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY OFFICIALS SAY THE BIRD WAS SHOT AT THE FARMERS FISH CAMP BRIDGE ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO. THE BIRD IS PROTECTED UNDER THE BALD AND GOLDEN EAGLE PROTECTION ACT, WHICH WAS ENACTED IN 1940. A VIOLATION OF THE ACT CAN RESULT IN A $100,000 FINE AND UP TO A YEAR BEHIND BARS. THAT SHOOTING

Deputies say the stabbing happened around 3:45 a.m. on Highway 561 in Halifax. Deputies found one woman with a laceration to her hand while a second victim was holding Alston down until they arrived.
