POSITION PROFILE: Join our team to help us produce products for our Nation’s Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Law Enforcement, First Responders, and allies. The Electro-Optical Technician role will be responsible for assembling, aligning, testing, and configuring optical, electronic, and mechanical components. Work is performed in accordance with released procedures, drawings, schematics, and wiring tables. If you’re eager to learn and grow, we’re eager to have you join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a wide variety of electro-mechanical assembly operations
Clean and assemble optical assemblies
Assemble cables, plugs, and wire harnesses
Record, test, and build data into databases as assemblies are tested
Maintain a clean, orderly, organized work area
Responsible for safe handling of all solvents and epoxies
Performs in-process and final inspections of assemblies to assure conformance to quality standards, including sterilization and packaging prior to shipment
Maintain excellent attendance, reliability, and independence
Train coworkers at various work stations
Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
Troubleshoot and repair skills to the component level
Ability to perform well and maintain production flow under noisy and disruptive situations
Excellent dexterity and good eyesight (requires assembly of small components and fine adjustment to close tolerances)
Experience with ESD safety requirements
Experience with optics handling, bonding, and cleaning
Experience with Beam Gage, Star Lab Software, Lab View, Cool Term, Picoscope, SWir GUI/LRF GUI
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings
Able to self-check and inspect works in progress
Excellent listening, presentation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Able to stand for extended periods of time
Knowledge of measuring and hand tools
Proficiency working with hand tools and using adhesives
Must be proficient at all levels of production (assemble, align, and test) across multiple product lines
Ability to read and follow work instructions
Overall knowledge of inventory control
Basic skills in Microsoft Office
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be a US Citizen or hold US Protected Individual status
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
Experience with 5S housekeeping practices
Experience with soldering certification, meeting IPC610 standards
Familiar with standard shop practices used in defense-related industries
Experience with ISO-9000 series of standards or similar standards
Experience working in an ITAR environment
Experience with an ERP system
