The highest cogwheel train in France, it comprises carriages bearing charming first names (Anne, Jeanne, Marie) for a timeless journey.

In summer, from the Fayet SNCF station (580m) or the village of Saint-Gervais (820m), the Mont-Blanc Tramway allows you to access the Nid d'Aigle ("Eagle’s Nest", 2380m), gateway to the Mont-Blanc royal route, with an exceptional viewpoint on the Bionnassay glacier.

In winter, from Le Fayet or Saint-Gervais, the Mont-Blanc Tramway opens the doors to the friendly and family-friendly ski area of Les Houches-St Gervais (1800m): the magnificent Bellevue plateau, which bears its name well!

At the foot of the roof of Europe, discover a unique view of the surrounding peaks. Enjoy sunny terraces and slopes for all skill levels, with plenty of easy slopes for children or beginners.

On the Les Houches side, overlooking the Chamonix valley, test yourself on the legendary "Verte des Houches" piste, home to the prestigious Kandahar, a World Cup ski event. On the Saint-Gervais side, overlooking the Arve valley, find slopes that will give you the pleasure of skiing facing the setting sun.

Finally, if you prefer walking, snowshoeing or Nordic skiing, you will find plenty to make you melt with joy!

Notably it will be a complete overview of your trip. But also a sensitive development of the Nid d'Aigle summit site, with an extension of the current track by 300m and the creation of a new station with Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE; high environmental quality) status, in order to secure the arrival at the end of the line.

What are the opening dates of the site ?

How can we book a place ?

Depending on your needs, different offers are available. You can either buy a round trip ticket Tramway du Mont-Blanc.

If you wish to visit, hike, and enjoy other benefits, choose the MONT BLANC MultiPass. The Multi-Site day or stay pass to discover our playground.

The booking is compulsory obligatoire, you need to choose a date and departure time.

If you already have a valid ticket (season, annual or long stay pass), you can book by clicking here.

What are the restrictions ?

The visit is forbidden for children under 6 months up to « Col de Voza » or « Col de Bellevue ».

There is no counter-indication for pregnant women, however if you have a doubt contact your doctor or obstetrician.

Animals are allowed kept on a leash (forbidden on the ski area of Les Houches - Saint-Gervais).

People with reduced mobility : wheelchair access is possible with an accompanying person and depending on the weather only up to « col de Voza » (special rates, contact us for information).

How long does the visit last and what practical information is there ?

Average visit duration is 3 to 4 hours (including the trip). Be aware during peak periods, the visit duration can be doubled.

There are 130 seats in the trains. The booking is for place in the train, but not necessarily a seat. Depending on the day, the affluence, the section and the schedule, seated places can’t be guaranteed on the round trip.

It’s not possible to book your return time during your purchase process.

The return time will be transmitted to you once at the top of Tramway du Mont Blanc by the operating agent depending on the availabilities.
Luggage number is limited to 1 hiking backpack and 1 ski pack per person. If you have more luggage, please refer to the cash desk. Stroller transportation is free.

How can I get to the Tramway du Mont-Blanc ?

Different departures are possible : from le Fayet station or Saint-Gervais station.

The parking lots are limited arround Saint-Gervais station and le Fayet station.

Free car parks without time limits are available in Bettex gondola (at 1km of the stations -25 minutes walk/bus shuttles available).
