Did you know today is National Trails Day? 🌱Foit-Albert Associates provided Engineering Design, Environmental, Landscape Design, and Survey services for the design of a one-mile section of the Empire State Trail. The Canalway Trail project from Mohawk to llion was developed for the NYS Thruway Authority, Canal Design Bureau.Scope of services included preparation of detailed plans for bidding for a one mile long, 10ft wide Canalway trail from Ilion to Mohawk. The plans provided amenities such as benches, kiosks, landscaping, a facility near the marina, among other related trail features. Additional scope included design of a pedestrian bridge structure over a large creek, updated survey, wetland delineation within the project corridor, and inspection of any structures to be crossed by the trail.Foit-Albert is proud to improve trails in New York State, enhancing the community's outdoor experience! 🍃

Yesterday, Foit-Albert Associates attended the first-ever #NYCSmallBusinessMonthExpo hosted by the NYC Department of Small Business Services. The event provided a variety of free information, resources, and direct services to #SmallBusinessOwners of all stages, industries, and boroughs, to address their needs. With access to 100+ free city programs, agencies, and partner resources – all under one roof, the event was a success! Foit-Albert Associates was selected to provide Architectural Design and Building Systems Services for the fit out of a Neuro-Interventional Surgery/Stroke, Endoscopy, and Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery Medical Office for @mohwak-valley-health-system in Utica, NY.MVHS recently moved all their services to downtown Utica and have built a new state of the art Hospital down the street from this location. MVHS hopes to have all its services located in the downtown area and this office space will be heavily utilized.The space consists of Medical Exam Rooms, Provider Offices, a Break Room, and Conferencing space. These spaces meet Article 28 requirements, and the team went through a rigorous Certificate of Need evaluation. The space that was fit-out for this group was about 7,400 square feet.#StrokeAwarenessMonth

It’s Preservation Month and we want to thank New York State Parks, Empire State Development and Senator Schumer for their commitment to preserving Michigan St. Baptist Church, an important historic landmark. It is going to be beautiful!After a lengthy stabilization process and major structural repairs, Senator Schumer provided a grant to restore the sanctuary. That is currently in process in the capable hands of RP Oak Hill Building Company Inc. We will also be creating an addition that looks completely separate to provide ADA accessibility to the basem*nt and first floor, along with ADA toilet rooms. What’s not to love about this building and all the souls that have walked through those doors for 175 years?

Early this month, Foit-Albert Associates was a proud sponsor for the #MWBEAdvocacyDay2024 in #AlbanyNY. With the theme “Restorative Justice, #Article15A, Advocating for the Extension and Expansion of the #MWBEprogram” This annual event brought together MWBE Leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to engage in discussions and advocate for policies that support the growth and success of MWBE business. The program allowed MWBE businesses to meet with Assemblymembers and Senators in their chambers to discuss their needs and struggles and receive the support needed to forge forward.
