ESO: The Arcanist Class Explained
The Arcanist class will be Elder Scrolls Online’s third new and 7th class. The upcoming mage class will officially launch in the game on June 5th for PC and June 20th for consoles. According to official announcements, the class will come with the release of ESO’s new Necron Chapter.

The landing of this mage class will introduce players to some epic, magnificent abilities. Expect some more insane mechanics harnessing its powers from Hermaeus Mora’s realm of Oblivion. In turn, this means that players should be able to release devastating, protective, and reviving magical powers.
New Aspects in the Arcanist Class
- CRUX: New Combat Mechanics
- The 7th class will host an exclusive point-based combo system known as the ‘Crux.’
- This mechanic will appear around the character as glowing triangles.
- Use certain Arcaanist class abilities to collect Crux.
- The game will only allow players to save only up to three Crux at a time.
- While some abilities produce Crux combat, others garner the power of this mechanic to improve its battle impact.
- Arcanist Class Builds
- This class includes Stamina, and Magicka builds for each game level.
- ESO levels include PvE, PvP, Beginner, and Solo Gameplay.
- For each level, it is advisable to add all three setups

The Necron-harnessing class will include three exclusive skill lines, each with a distinct play style: destructive, defense, and healing. These skill lines include;

The Herald of the Tome
Using the Herald of the Tome, players harness the ability to strike extreme damage on their opponents. This skill set manipulates the Arcane capabilities to impart beams, blasts, and other forces of destruction. To attain this effect, players can use the following abilities;
- Rune Blades – Used to strike runes of magic while generating Crux.
- Abyssal Impact – Allows you to transform your arm into a weapon by summoning magical tentacles from the abyss.

You need a defense mechanism in every combat to survive every blow sent toward you. In this case, you will need to incorporate the Apocryphal Soldier skill. This skill uses the Runes magic to protect your character and teammates. This skill includes the following abilities;
- Runespite Ward –Use its buff powers to defend yourself and your team. Additionally, its defense ability can lead to an explosive shield that you can boost by activating Crux.
- Runic Jolt
- Fatewoven Armor
- Runic Defense
- Rune Of Eldritch Horror
- Gibbering Shield (Ultimate)
Curative Runeforms
After every damage, players should find a secure space to activate curative runeforms for healing and health restoration. While it allows for solo curing, it also allows players to heal and shield teammates from further attacks. Its abilities include;
- Apocryphal Gate –allows you to summon gates opening passages between worlds.
- Rune Mend
- Remedy Cascade
- Chakram Shields
